Ganjar Pranowo's expression when he discovered the practice of illegal levies at the Subah Weighbridge, Batang. [edit]

On 27 April 2014, Ganjar caught the public's attention when he expressed his anger at Dishub officers who practiced illegal levies (extortion) during a surprise inspection at the Subah weighbridge, Batang Regency.[xl] Ganjar admitted that he saw firsthand several clerks who gave coin from Rp. x,000 to Rp. 20,000 or beneath the official highest fine of Rp. sixty,000 to officers.[41]

The finding of illegal levies in Subah resulted in a policy that closed the weighbridges in Key Java since May 2014. All the same, this policy later caused Key Java to lose revenue of Rp. 10.118 billion as recorded by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) on Central Java's fiscal statements for 2014. Alwin Basri, ane of the leaders of the local DPRD Commission, said that the policy caused losses for the province itself.[42]

The weighbridge closure was not followed by an official evaluation and study of the duties and functions of employees on duty at each weighbridge. "This includes violating the rules likewise. The governor'due south inspection at the weighbridge at that time, which was total of imagery, turned out to be expensive, with a loss of Rp10.118 billion in acquirement," said Alwin.[43]

Indonesian Cement dispute case [edit]

By casting their feet, farmers from Kendeng staged a sit-in in front of Dki jakarta to sue the new environmental permit for PT Semen Indonesia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semen_Indonesia_Group) which was signed by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.

Ganjar is considered to non be as involved in the dispute between Semen Indonesia and the residents of Rembang (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rembang_Regency). Since 2015, residents have tried to resist the construction of a cement factory in the Kendeng mountains by taking legal action and property demonstrations ranging from the erection of tents at the project site, a 150 km long march to Semarang, to the symbolic activeness of cementing feet in front of the State Palace, Jakarta.

Kendeng residents' lawsuit to abolish the cement factory permit was granted after the Supreme Courtroom (MA) on Baronial 2, 2016, issued a Judicial Review (PK) conclusion which canceled the Prescript (SK) regarding the Ecology Let for Mining Activities past PT Semen Gresik in Rembang Regency.[44]

Although the PK'southward decision has prohibited mining and drilling in groundwater basins in the Kendeng mountain expanse,[45] Ganjar on Nov nine, 2016, issued an "addendum" or a new decree by irresolute the name of PT Semen Gersik Tbk to PT Semen Republic of indonesia Tbk.[46] Co-ordinate to him, the court'south decision has not yet explained whether the factory volition continue or not, so the establishment of the Semen Indonesia mill will continue because there is no social club to close it.[47]

Responding to a demonstration past residents who demanded that the factory shut down subsequently the Supreme Court granted the residents' claim, Ganjar stated that his administration was willing to stop the Semen Republic of indonesia mill in Rembang equally long as the policy was canonical past the central government.[48] However, President Joko Widodo said resolving the manufactory issue was the responsibility of the provincial government and the central government had no authority to consequence permits for cement factories endemic by authorities companies.[49]

The Indonesian Forum for the Environment (Walhi), ane of the ecology let claimants in a written release, claimed Ganjar was "toying with the law in the interests of the industry." Walhi Executive Director Nur Hayati said Ganjar had carried out a tactic to evade the obligation to obey the police and courtroom decisions when residents obeyed and respected the law. Co-ordinate to him, "The governor issued a policy that poses a loftier risk to the people and the environment by ignoring the vocalisation of the people, especially the farmers who have been defending their country, h2o, and sources of life with their souls and lives.[l]"

On December xix, 2016, hundreds of Kendeng residents demonstrated demanding the closure of the cement factory in Rembang because they were disappointed with Ganjar's read of the legal situation. The merit of the demonstrations came nether question equally the listing of residents' names contained the names of Ultraman and Ability Rangers[42].[51] [52]

Along with widespread pressure level from residents for the governor to cancel the environmental allow for factory construction, according to the Supreme Courtroom's decision[44], Gus Nuril Arifin, the leader of the Abdurrahman Wahid Soko Tunggal Islamic Boarding School, who once met with demonstrators at the project site, said Ganjar should not be ashamed of the company that congenital the factory. "Given the power to destroy nature, this doesn't keep the promise. This policy is hypocritical and should not be continued," Arifin said regarding the situation about Pranowo.[53]

On January 17, 2017, Ganjar issued a prescript canceling his previous addendum. He decided to postpone the procedure of establishing the Semen Indonesia manufacturing plant in Rembang until a permit decree was issued in adjustment to the PK MA decision.[54] Withal, a new permit "with a slight alter of territory" was re-issued on 23 February 2017,[55] [56] considered a bad precedent for law enforcement in Republic of indonesia, the Semarang Legal Help Constitute (LBH) condemned the issuance of the new permit. Director of LBH Semarang, Zainal Arifin called the new environmental let illegal and "a form of governor's arrogance.[57]"

Policy [edit]

During his leadership, Ganjar enacted financing loan reform from Bank Jateng for MSMEs with the KUR Mitra 25 product bearing an interest of 7 percentage per year, while Mitra 02 was at two percent, without collateral, and without administrative fees. When launched, the loan involvement was the everyman in Indonesia; now the model is replicated by other local governments throughout the country and has even received attention and appreciation from President Joko Widodo.[58] [59] [60]

In 2015, the Corruption Eradication Commission awarded the Provincial Government of Central Java, led by Pranowo, an award for its consistent reports of corruption and gratification. The recognition came due to Ganjar's dedication in controlling the giving of gratuities to both governors and officials of the Fundamental Coffee provincial authorities. Now, the Eid package culture doesn't even exist anymore in the Key Java Provincial Government.[61] [62]

Ganjar made a breakthrough by requiring all state ceremonious servants (ASN) which numbered more than 40,000 in the Key Java Provincial Authorities to pay zakat (based on PP No. 14 of 2014, Presidential Instruction No. 3 of 2014, and the appeal of the Governor of Cardinal Coffee Ganjar Pranowo). The income of each ASN is directly deducted by 2.5 per centum. Monthly, IDR 1.6 billion is collected which is used for disaster assistance, repair of uninhabitable houses (RTLH), education and Islamic boarding schools, mosques, health sector, and others.[63]

In 2016, Ganjar launched a program to course disaster-resilient villages. The target is that by 2018 all of the 2204 disaster-prone villages in Cardinal Java get disaster resilient. Pranowo helped grade 100 independent villages, mostly in areas that have the potential to become tourist destinations and deliver natural resources for community development.[64]

In the health sector, Ganjar has planned the construction of an international standard modernistic hospital at MAJT (Central Java Grand Mosque). In addition, Ganjar Pranowo too launched the "Jateng Gayeng Nginceng Wong Meteng" plan he initiated early during his assistants.[65] [66]

Pranowo besides brought about farmer cards during his administration. These cards contain data on the identity of the farmer, the surface area of land, the type of plant, and the need for fertilizer. Exterior of farmers, no one has admission to subsidized fertilizers, thereby eliminating crime and abuse of dominance. President Jokowi then appreciated and made the farmer card a national program.[67]

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic in Indonesia, Pranowo said he would fix a heroes cemetery for medical personnel who died due to the coronavirus. The argument was in response to the case of residents' rejection of the funeral of a nurse at the Dr. Kariadi Hospital in Semarang who died from the virus.[lxx] The statement drew criticism; some felt he should have paid more than attending to the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect medical personnel; rather than speaking about graves. For this criticism, Ganjar said those who were using the state of affairs to criticize were doing so for political proceeds.[71] [72]

2024 presidential ballot speculation [edit]

Ahead of the 2024 Presidential election, which will occur in February 2024, Pranowo has been the subject of media speculation on whether or non he will run for the presidency. In a poll conducted by New Republic of indonesia Inquiry & Consulting, Pranowo polls with twenty.5%, with defense minister and 2019 presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto coming in second with 16.7%.[73]

This has resulted in rising tensions with Puan Maharani and the chairman of the PDI-P Election Winning Body (Bappilu) Bambang Wuryanto [id]. Culminating in 2021, when Pranowo was not invited to an important PDIP event in Central Java.[74]

Regarding the state of affairs, Pranowo would say that at that fourth dimension he was invited away by BI, and if the visit is unlawful, he would return the money he received. Fellow DPR members at the time Bomer Pasaribu (Golkar), Ali Masykur Musa (PKB), and Andi Rahmat (PKS)also received an invitation to England at the time. "That's where he said I received a period of funds. I really didn't empathize. Because I was invited as a invitee. Of course, I didn't ask near the source of the funds. BI internal rules are considered wrong, and then I volition ask for a list of the costs incurred for it and I am gear up to render it," Pranowo stressed later in the interview.
