The UF/IFAS Extension Family Nutrition Program (FNP) is seeking an inclusive manager to provide mean solar day-to-24-hour interval leadership and coordination of SNAP-Education in Leon, Liberty, Calhoun, Franklin, Gulf, Wakulla and Santa Rosa Counties. What is SNAP-Ed
SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Aid Programme - Education) is a federally funded grant plan that teaches people how to eat salubrious on a budget and be more physically agile to reduce the adventure of obesity and chronic disease.
- The UF/IFAS Extension Family unit Nutrition Program (FNP) has been providing SNAP-Ed in Florida since 1996
- Funding comes from the USDA through the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF)
- We teach nutrition education classes where people ordinarily get together, such equally schools, community centers, libraries, and churches
- Our defended regional public wellness and nutrient systems staff work to affect policies, systems, and environments to support salubrious changes in our communities
The Opportunity
Equally the FNP Extension Program Director (EPM), you will be joining a signature Extension program impacting over 1 million income-constrained Floridians each year. Equally the country'due south premier land-grant university, UF offers free educational programs through Extension to provide solutions for everyday issues facing Florida's families. Every bit function of Extension, y'all will be joining a network that has served Floridians for over 100 years. Y'all will lead a passionate team and be an ambassador for University of Florida, IFAS Extension, and SNAP-Ed to local stakeholders.
In this role, you can look to:
- Provide supervision and leadership for the FNP teams in vii counties in the northwest: Calhoun, Franklin, Gulf, Leon, Liberty, Santa Rosa and Wakulla. Straight reports include seven paraprofessional community Nutrition Educators, and an Office Assistant to provide support.
- Promote the program locally and recruit teaching sites
- Provide regular training and coaching to staff
- Interact with specialists in Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) Change to positively impact local nutrient systems and public health
- Piece of work closely with county Extension faculty to foster customs partnerships
- Develop and implement a local plan and budget, submit monthly reports to capture programming data and successes
- Travel as necessary within region and occasionally inside the state of Florida for grooming

Expected Bacon:
$38,900 - $45,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:
Master'due south degree in an advisable area; or a Bachelor's caste in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of management experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfy with public speaking, presenting to groups, and leading training
- Degree in homo nutrition or closely related field, instruction, management, business, or public administration
- Proven success managing relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Feel with grant-funded programs and/or working with government agencies
